Digitalisation and climate change – twin transitions for the future

Digitalisation and climate change – twin transitions for the future

The global community is facing one of the biggest challenges in its history: stopping climate change. This can only be achieved through a revised mindset and decisive action by all stakeholders in the interest of a sustainable future – in politics, in business and in private life. The digital transformation is a decisive lever in this regard.

Advancing digitalisation is changing the economy and society incredibly quickly. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, the networking of people in all areas of life and the development towards a data economy are increasingly shaping our lives. They will become even more relevant in the future.

Twin transition

We see the climate, digitalisation and the future as being inextricably linked. We are convinced that digital technologies and innovations will make a key contribution to stopping climate change to the degree possible.

Our work is based on the strategic objectives of the current European Commission. It has identified the twin transition as its core challenge in order to ensure a secure and prosperous future for all people in Europe. We want to play an active role in ensuring that digitalisation is conceived in a responsible, sustainable and socially just way by all those who shape it.
