Managing Director of the Allensbach Institute for Demoscopy

Prof. Dr Renate Koecher, born in 1952 in Frankfurt am Main, studied economics, sociology and publishing studies in Mainz, Germany. In 1985, Koecher graduated with a PhD rerum politicarum in Munich on the topic “Professional Ethics of German and British Journalists”. She joined the Allensbach Institute (IfD Allensbach) as a research associate in 1977, and assumed the position of managing director of the Institute in 1988. Her research focus is on the people’s disposition towards reform and innovation, acceptance of new technologies, political analysis and value change. In the year 2003, Renate Koecher was bestowed the title of Professor.

Alongside numerous guest contributions in economic and social journals, Koecher publishes regularly in the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and operates in supervisory boards of various renowned companies.
